Celebrating Labor Day

Today we got up really early, 6 a.m. to be exact and I am not really sure why. So we went to church at 9 and then went to Grandma and Grandpa Hunt's to celebrate Labor Day. My brother Chris came up from Cincinnati. My aunt Sharon was there and so were Hallie, Carrie and Dominic. We just spent the day enjoying the babies and watching how fast they are growing. Corinne said Bye Bye twice today and has now mastered the art of stair climbing. Her motor has really just taken off this week and I am sure she will be walking very soon. Corinne also had chicken for the first time and loved it. So she had chicken, cheese and corn with the rest of us for lunch today. It is amazing how big she is!

Fun Days

Today was a good day at home with Corinne. She has been sleeping through the night so that really helps. This morning she even got up at 6 but then went back to sleep until 8. There is nothing like sleeping in on a Saturday morning with your little girl. Daddy went golfing this morning so Mommy and Corinne spent most of the morning by ourselves. We just played and I watched in amazement as Corinne crawled across the floor, moved to a sitting position (which is fairly new for her), then to kneeling and then pulling to stand on everything. As I said yesterday she is now pulling up in her bed and I found her that way when she got up from her morning nap. The only problem is she has figured out how to get up but not how to get down. Our friend Karey came over today and hung out with her little dog Nora and Corinne was so happy. After Karey let she had dinner which included cheddar cheese which she had never had but loved. She is really interested in feeding herself so we have been giving her lots of finger foods at night even though she only has half a tooth. She is just getting so big! After dinner we enjoyed the beautiful late summer night for a later then usually evening walk then it was bath and off to bed. These are the days I will use to get through the week!

Doctor's and Hair

First of all thanks for all the support this week as I went back to work. Jeremy stuck by my side as I cried most of the week and will probably continue to do so for a while. I am so lucky to have such a supportive husband. I made it through the week and although I wish I was at home with her I am getting back into the swing of things and it will really be better once my kids start coming next week.
Today Corinne had her nine month checkup and everything was fine. She is 17 1/2 pounds and 28 1/2 inches long, so she remains long and skinny. Who would have thought? She is in the 50% percentile so right where she should be. She did get a flu shot which I was a little nervous about given our family history (my uncle had a severe reaction to a flu shot) but it seemed to have little effect on her.
She went to the babysitter for a little bit but Daddy was done with work at one he got to get her early. Jeremy brought her to school to see me and then they went home to try and take a nap but Corinne had other ideas. She went to sleep fine at first but Jeremy said he heard her wake up and start talking to herself but then she got quiet which is never good. She then started growling and grunting and he was not sure if she was going to the bathroom or what so he peaked in on her. He looked in on her to find her standing in her crib and trying to climb over. This was very scary for Daddy because we had not moved the bed all they way down. This was the first time that she has made it all the way to standing up. Needless to say Corinne did not go back down for a nap. By the time I got home she was pretty tired and was getting frustrated. She did end up taking a little nap in the chair with Daddy. Then we ate some dinner and Corinne tried cheese for the first time and she loved it. She was very tired after dinner so it was straight to bath time. We have been brushing her hair when she gets dressed and ready for bed and then she holds the brush. Well tonight she tried to brush her own hair. It was so cute!

Last Couple of Days

I feel like I do not have a whole lot to report besides Corinne is now crawling over top of things including Zeus by crawling to them, pulling up to stand and then going on over. Yesterday when we got home I noticed that she had a red mark on the back of her arm but did not think much of it because she has such sensitive skin. This morning I was getting her dressed when I noticed that the red mark had turn into her first rug burn. She also had her first meal with her half a tooth that was not purred food. She love picking the food and even squishing the mangoes in her hands. It was looks really bad. It will be great especially since we have to go to the pediatrician tomorrow. Tonight when we got home she was talking up a storm and busy crawling and climbing on everything. We are making the most of the time we have together!

Another Day

Well today was a little easy but only by a minuet amount. I was very busy today so that helps, even though I still have a million things to do. Corinne was very tired tonight and that is one of my big thing about working is her being exhausted. She is really moving on all fours all the time now and is getting far too good at going from crawling to sitting to kneeling to standing. Please continue to pray for us that we get into a routine.

School Days

Today was a very hard day for me! I went back to school and it was not easy. I made it through the day after a lot of tears. I got to Dawn(the babysitter) I think that Corinne was a little mad at me. She did not get all excited like she always does for Jeremy and did not come to me right away. Of course this made me cry! When I got home from school we had to go to my preschool beginning of the school year picnic. Corinne was the hit of the picnic and again everyone said how beautiful she is. That is what is making it so hard. By the time we get home there is not much time left to do anything. We play for a little while but then Zeus needs walked and we do that. Then it's dinner, bath and bed. I think this would be a little easier if I just had more time with her that we could just play. However after I went to the picnic and saw all the children with special needs there I am just thankful to have a happy and healthy baby. Everyone keeps telling me it will get easier and I really hope it does but it just not feeling that way right now.

Good Last Day

After a rough start for Mommy in the morning we had a great last day of summer vacation. We went to the zoo and had a great time despite the heat. Corinne loves looking at the animals now and is getting so big. Then we came home and just did some straightening up to get ready for Mommy and Daddy to both go to work tomorrow. I am praying I have the strength to leave in the morning! I know I have done it before, but before I knew it was only for four and a half months and this will be for ten months. We will see! On a positive note Corinne is crawling on her hands and knees most of the time now and is pulling to stand which she has only been doing occasionally before. She also was just standing by her and even tried to take a few steps today. I know I keep saying it but I bet she will be walking by 10 months!

Getting Bad

Well I sent most of the morning crying as I prepare to go back to school. We had a good day though and Corinne was such a trooper. We had tons of errands to run before I have to go back to work on Monday and she held in there through all of them. I just keeping thinking how much I will be missing when I am not home during the day but we will get through it. Corinne loves her babysitter and the kids there so I just keep thinking this is good for her social skills but that has not make it any easier. I am thankful that I had the summer with her but can't help thinking that this break has made it that much harder for me to go back. It us in your prayers as we make this adjustment this week!

The end of summer

Today was my last really day of summer vacation and Corinne and I had to spend it in my dumb classroom with me working like crazy to get things done. The next time someone says to me "must be nice to only work nine months out of the year" I am going to smack them. I have spent the last three weeks going in to school working on my classroom and I am still going to have to bust my butt to get everything done before the kids come. It was made a lot harder this year with Corinne because she did not find putting bulletin boards up that much fun. When I got her up from a nap this morning I just stood there and cried because I know this will be the last week day that I will be there for her when she gets up from her morning nap. As I have said many times I love my job but I love being a Mom more. I just hate the thought of probably missing her first step and many other things. I never thought I would want to be a stay at home Mom but I do! Corinne is kneeling and and pulling to stand all the time now. She is also contining to sing and dance to everything she hears.

Trying to get back to normal

Well we are trying to get back to normal but the long weekend really took it out of Corinne. She has been really sleepy for the last two days making it very hard for me to go back into school. Therefore I really have nothing done in my classroom and I just have no desire to go back in there. Grandma, Aunt Carrie and Dominic came up yesterday to try and help me in the classroom but we never made it there. We went to Kohl's first because we had a great coupon and she just lost it there. I have never really seen a nine month old through such great fits. Corinne is pulling up all the time now and has even learned how to climb the stairs. She is a ball of fire and I think we are going to have our hands extremely full! Today we had our last weekday play group and it was fun to watch the girls do some baby wrestling and play baby soccer.

Long and Rough

It was a long and rough weekend for the Miller Family. We went into Wheeling on Saturday afternoon and went to church with Pappy. Corinne is really into echos right now so she was yelling in the very big and open church that Jeremy's parents go to. After church we just tried to help Pappy feel better about his dad by telling stories about all the good times that they had. Sunday were the calling hours for Jeremy's Grandpap and they lasted from 12-8 so it was a very long and sad day. Corinne was a trooper and we stayed for all but about 2 hours of the day. She got to meet a lot of family that she had never met before and everyone just keep saying how beautiful she is. I really realized how much she looks like a Miller on Sunday when she was around all of Jeremy's family. Jeremy's Grandmother got to come to the funeral home for a little bit and it was just so sad. Monday was the funeral for Jeremy's Grandpap, John Augustus Miller Jr. was laid to rest and it was very hard even though as Jeremy says I never really got to meet his Grandpap. His Grandpap had been suffering the effects of Alzheimer's for about ten years now. On a happier note Corinne is doing patty cake now complete with clapping and her attempt to "roll it". It is amazing how fast she is growing. She is also wanting to "walk" all the time so I don't think it will be long. Corinne also had some potatoes off Mommy's plate and the luncheon after the funeral. She got some time to play with her cousin's Madison, Kolby and Austin which she just loves!

Grandpap

Today we got the call at 6:15 a.m. that Jeremy's Grandfather passed away. He had Alzheimer's and has not been able to speak for some time now so we know he is in a better place. It is very sad since Jeremy's Grandparents were instrumental in raising him. Jeremy went back today to be with his family and then came home tonight. We will all be leaving for Wheeling tomorrow to spend time with Jeremy's family. The visiting hours will be all day Sunday and the funeral Monday. Just keep us in your prayer's as this is a hard time.

Rough Day

Corinne continues on her quest to never sleep through the night and I am about to lose my mind. Plus her separation anxiety is at an all time high so she is pretty much attached to me 24/7. I had the wish idea to try and go to school to get some things done today but of course that did not happen. Jenna and Izzy (the neighbor girls) came to play with Corinne today and they are going to go to school with me tomorrow to keep Corinne entertained while I try to work. We went to a get together for my work and of course Corinne was a happy, chatty, content baby there. I guess I would rather it be that way then the other way around!

Play days

Today we hosted play group at our house and the girls had a good time. It is fun to watch the girls move around each other and see how the other kids are getting around. The one little girl, Carissa is almost walking so we were just anticipating the steps. Corinne continues on her quest to wear Mommy out by not sleeping and then fussy half the afternoon because she is so tired. Oh the joys of parenting but I would not trade it for the world!

Sad day

Well Corinne still is not sleeping through the night...in fact she is getting up about every two hours and we just can not figure out what is going on with her. Anyway, we went into school today which was extremely hard for me. I love teaching but I am thinking at this point that I would love being home with my daughter more. I know that Corinne will be fine with the sitter but I just am not looking forward to only have a few hours a day with her and possibly missing her first steps. After going to school for a short time because Corinne really did not really want me to be working in the classroom today, we came home for nap time. When Corinne woke up the neighbors came over to play with her which she loves! Then we all had dinner together, Corinne is really learning to sit with us while we all eat. Corinne had Cheerios' for the first time tonight and did very well. It made me a little nervous though since she does not really have any teeth.

Wheeling Days

We had a very busy weekend with a trip to Wheeling that was packed full of activity. On Saturday we went to Jeremy's parents and had a great time spending time with Grandma and Pappy, Aunt Brandy, Aunt Jolene, Austin, Kolby, and Madison. Madison just loves Corinne so she is always such a "helper".

Corinne and Madison

We had a cookout, played some games and enjoyed the beautiful weather. On Sunday we went to Jeremy's Pap's for a small party for his 70th birthday. Corinne got to she Pap Pap, GeGe and Jeff and her Great Aunt Kim.

Then we went to the nursing home to see Jeremy's Grandparents. Jeremy's Grandmother was doing great and was glad to see the baby. Jeremy's Pap is not doing so well unfortunately he did not get to see Corinne. Then it was off to Lancaster to get Zeus and visit with Grandma and Grandpa Hunt. Corinne is so loved by so many people we are truly blessed. She was waving and talking to everyone the whole weekend. By the time we got home Corinne was so tired she barely slept last night. I know one of these days she will sleep through the night I just hope it is soon! Today we went to the zoo with Aunt Carrie and Dominic. Corinne was much more interested in looking at the animals this time but still loves watching the people too. We had a great time and it was nice to spend some time with my sister.

Another Crazy Day

Corinne and I spent the day running around town trying to get everything done we had to do. It makes me wonder how we will get everything done once I go back to work. Corinne has been such a trooper this week with all the activity we have had. Tonight Tiffany, Todd and Jack came over for dinner and the kids had a good time playing with each other. That was about it for today! The picture below are from yesterday while she was playing and then one from when we took swim lessons in July which she loved.

Oh to Grandmother's house we go

We went to Grandma and Grandpa Hunt's house today and had a great time. We did some shopping with Grandma and then went to her house to play. Corinne has become quit the little shopper especially since most of the time I am shopping for her these days. We were looking at the Brown Bear books that they have at Kohl's and beside the books and Corinne grabbed the Brown Bear that goes with the book and gave it a hug. Then she would not put it down and continued to cuddle it so of course Grandma had to buy it. Once we were at Grandma's Dominic, Corinne's cousin came over to play and it is so funny to watch them interact. Corinne continues her waving and saying hi phase. She had said something that sounded like "Hi Zeus" before so I told her to say it today at my Mom's and there it was clear as day "Hi Zeus" and she looked right at him. So then my Mom told her to say "Hi Dom" and she did. She is such a social little girl! Corinne tried watermelon for the first time today and loved it. She also got the see Aunt Heather, Uncle Curt, and Grandpa before we left.

So busy

It has been a busy week. Yesterday we had a play date with Claire and Adam, my friend Elizabeth's kids. Adam is 2 and Claire is 4 so it was fun for Corinne to play with some older kids. She was really talking to them a ton. Jeremy is a little leery but when we go upstairs I have been showing Corinne how to crawl up the steps, which is mostly just me moving her legs, until last night. We were in the bathroom getting ready for bath time and Corinne pulled herself up, and got up the step that leads to the bathtub it was a big milestone. Today we had lunch with Daddy which was a rare treat. Then we played in the afternoon before going to Matt and Natalie's for dinner. Corinne loved watching Zeus and Cooper, Matt and Natalie's dog, play together. Everyday that I see her grow more into a person makes it that much harder to think about going back to work. I am trying to just enjoy every minute that I have at home from her but I have to say the tears are already coming daily!

Swimming

Today we made our first trip to the community pool with our friends Becki and Hannah that we met in Corinne's swim class. Corinne and Hannah had a good time splashing around in the big pool and watching the big kids splash around them.

Long Weekend

This weekend was an eventful one. Corinne was cruising on the couch on Friday which she really just started doing last week and see let go and took two steps before falling done. She is getting up on her knees more but still will not crawl on her knees. I think she is going to be walking before long. We had a cookout on Saturday so that my parents could see Corinne, they have not seen her in about three weeks. Corinne was her typical chatting self and she had fun playing with everyone. She also is eating foods with her half a tooth that she has to chew more. She even feed herself this weekend with a banana
.
On Sunday we spent the day just being together. Nora the dog we were dog sitting went home and then we took Zeus to the dog park at Alum Creek. They have a section where the dogs can swim and he had a great time. Corinne loved watching him swim and loved watching the other dogs too! We really have a great life and I thank God for it every day. The picture is to show the curls that Corinne is getting now. We are still working on getting hair on top but the sides are getting pretty long.
