Another busy week goes by...

Last Friday Corinne and I spent the day shopping for her big girl bed sheets and other items for her new room. We got the bed rail, sheets, and mattress pad that we needed but we are still searching for the perfect comforter for her bed. We also got some good buys on clothes for Daddy, Mommy and both girls. Corinne was a trooper and is turning into quit the little shopper. Friday night Corinne threw a huge fit because she wanted to sleep in her big girl bed so Jeremy and I rushed to get the sheets and rail on and then she changed her mind in the end about sleeping in it. (Mommy was okay with this because I am not sure I was ready for her to be in the big girl bed). We will keep working on it and we have about two months before we really need her to be in the big girl bed.

Saturday we headed to a baseball tournament for our babysitters son Ryan. Corinne was happy to see Linda, Ashley, Jack and Ryan and really liked playing at the park and walking up and down the bleachers. Ryan did really well but unfortunately they did not win the tournament. We also got to spend some time with Grandma and Pappy Miller. It is so fun now that Corinne is starting to recognize people by name and what she likes to do with them. Sunday we headed back to Lancaster and spent some time at Grandma and Grandpa Hunt's. Uncle Curt, Aunt Carrie, Uncle Hallie, and Dominic also stopped by to play for a little while. It was a good weekend and was pretty relaxing. Sunday night when we got home Corinne really wanted to try the big girl bed again but ultimately still slept in her crib. She really likes the bed though. (The sheets that are on the bed now are the ones we just throw on there Friday night when she was throwing a fit because I had not had a chance to wash the others. The sheets we got Friday were purple!)

Corinne in her big girl bed!

Monday we had a play date with Jack and Tiffany at our house and had a lot of fun. We talked about going to the park but the kids were having so much fun playing we just let me play. Corinne was force feeding Jack play food and it was so funny to watch! It was a fun time and Corinne is so excited to see her friends each week. We tried the big girl bed again but went back to the crib before bed.

Tuesday we had a play date at Carissa's house. The girls just spent the morning playing in the backyard having a good time. It was a little warmer then we thought it was going to be which is good!
Wednesday and Thursday were an experience for me because I had to leave Corinne over night for the first time. I have a retreat for work that I had to go too. Corinne went to the babysitters during the day and stayed with Daddy at night. Everything worked out fine and we made it through the two days but I was glad to be home.
Today we have cleaned most of the day and Corinne took a really good nap. Our friend Kerrie had her little girl Helena yesterday so we are going to make a trip to the hospital to see her in a little while. Pray for little Helena and her family as she has some complications that the family was aware of but she has already had to undergo one surgery.

Time is flying by!!

It seems like after the 4th of July summer always fly's by but it is particularly bad this year. Last week seemed like a busy week but we did not go a whole lot of places. The picture below is an example of what happens when I am trying to get something done and I give Corinne a snack and leave her unattended. She dumped almost a brand new bag of Goldfish and then was calling for Zeus to come and eat them!

Goldfish frenzy-no wonder the animals like her so much

Last Thursday we had a play date with Hannah at a park and had a good time. Corinne is always so exhausted after the play dates that she falls asleep early and usually takes her best naps! After she woke up from her nap though she continued her diva shoe habits and was trying on every pair of shoes in the house. It is scary how well she can walk in some of my heals! I think we may have a shoe addict on our hands.

Modeling Mom's shoes

Friday we had a nice day out home and then Mommy went to a surprise shower for our friend Kerrie who is due to have second girl at the beginning of August if not sooner. We had a great time and I am thankful for my new Mommy friends!

Saturday Corinne, Jeremy and I were up very early thanks to Corinne so we made an early trip to the park to walk Zeus and play on the playgroup since he was suppose to rain later in the day. After we dropped Zeus off at home we ran our usually errands and cleaned the house like we do on most Saturdays. It was nice to just spend time as a family.

Sunday we got up early and went to church. Corinne spend half the mass yelling hi Jesus, which was cute for a while but got old when people started looking at us. Sunday was my brother's birthday so we went to celebrate his birthday as well as my sister in law Heather's who is later this month. As usually we ate way too much good food and had a really good time.

Singing Happy Birthday to Curt and Heather

Monday we went to Blacklick Park for a play date with our friends Jack and Tiffany, Tiffany's sister Tabatha and her kids Cameron and Caiden, and my sister and nephew Dominic. It was all boys for Corinne but she does not seem to care. It was cute how she was calling everyone by name and trying to tell the boys where to go to play. We finished the play date with a walk in the woods and then our first trip to McDonald's for lunch. Corinne had fun but that will be a rare treat for her!

Corinne would not go along with the boys to get a really good group shot!

On Tuesday we had a play date at Hannah's again where we had a very nice time even though it was a little cool. The girl's played in the pool and water table but really played together in the club house that Hannah has. We got everyone in the shot but just could not get them all to look at the same time. I also had a doctor's appointment to Karey K. came over to watch Corinne while I was there. The doctor says everything is just where is should be but I feel huge already. It may be a long 9 1/2 weeks before this baby comes!

Hanging with the girls
Yesterday we made a trip to JoAnn Fabrics to get some letters to put Corinne's name up in her new big girl room and put Lydia's name up in her room. This is something that I have been meaning to do since Corinne was born but never got around to it. That is one of the pluses of knowing what you are having ahead of time. We also crossed a huge hurdle yesterday when Corinne gave he her hand in the parking lot to walk with me. Up to this point we would tell her she had to hold our hand or we would have to carry her and she would grab your hand and then drop to the ground so this is a huge step. She is growing up so fast which makes me sad in someways but thankful in others the closer it gets to Lydia getting here.
Today was a big day because we got Corinne's big girl bed. It is actually my old daybed from my parents and it is perfect for her. Carrie and Hallie brought it up for us and took my twin bed down to Mom and Dad's so there is still a bed to sleep on in our old room. Corinne loved the bed and I think if I would have had the bedding tonight she would have slept on it. I was worried about the transition but I think it is going to be good. I got her new room cleaned including wiping down walls and the new guest bedroom ready to go as well. Although I told Jeremy that as soon as I can paint again his beloved blue and gold room is going to go to a nice neutral beige! I got a ton done but I am exhausted. Tomorrow we will try and find the bedding for Corinne's new bed and then maybe work on the rest of the furniture next week. Things are starting to come together but I have got to get down in the basement and start bringing up baby stuff.

4th of July

This was a very fun long weekend for us. Friday Jeremy had the day off so we planned to head to the zoo at some point. I took the oppotunity to get a haircut in the morning because my hair had not been cut for a year. After that we played around the house in the morning and then had a nice nap and lunch. Once lunch was finished we decided to head to the zoo but appartently have the other people in the Columubs area also made this decision because when we got there at 12:30 people were already parking in the grass because the parking lots were full. Needless to say we did not go to the zoo and decided to just play at a park instead. Corinne had a good time at the park and kept sitting on benches and saying "cheese" so I included one of the pictures. We came home and just enjoyed being together and made sure that Corinne was in bed on time because we new Saturday was going to be a long day.

Corinne at the park

Saturday, the 4th of July we headed to my parents early so that we could go to the Lancaster parade. It was a very nice parade but it was a little warmer then expected so we did not last the whole time. Corinne and Dominic were very good. Corinne watched the other kids picking up the candy was thrown so she tried to get right up there with them even though she did not know what they were getting. I also ran into a very old friend so it was nice to catch up with her a little. I think we went to the 4th of July parade together every year when we were little because she lived right up the street from us and now she has three girls of her own. After the parade we headed to my parents to help set up for our holiday gorge fest complete with two kinds of homemade ice cream. Corinne help up very well all day and had a great time playing with everyone. We did get rain in the afternoon so it dampened the usually outside play. There were a lot of neighborhood fireworks going on and she was scared at first but got a little better as the day went on. We had fun playing games and just enjoying the long day and Corinne actually made it to fireworks time. However, Corinne was not a fan of the fireworks, she did not cry but was shaking so we just took her back to my Mom and Dad's. Within five minutes she was asleep and pretty much slept the whole night. It was a great holiday and it will be even more interesting next year with two little ones around.

Corinne and Dominic were losing interest!

Corinne modeling her new bow (it was very cute but did not last long)

We have a picture from last year the same way so we wanted to try and take one each year.

My nephew Keith's interesting pants.
Sunday we spent the day catching up on some cleaning and grocery shopping. Then in the afternoon we had Jeremy's Uncle's kids for the night. They have one child who needs his tonsils out but they had to do a sleep study first so the other boys stayed with us. Corinne was pretty good but did have a little trouble with Mommy taking care of another baby, Chris is 7 months old. It was interesting to have boys in the house they certainly do have a lot of energy. However even though this was not there house both Chris and Nick, the five year old were in bed by 8:30 while Corinne was screaming her head off. I am hoping this sleep situation gets better before the baby comes but I am not counting on it!

Busy Summer Days

It has been a busy week for us the past week and I love it that way. Last Wednesday we just hung around the house and it was very nice. Last Thursday we had another pool playdate this time at Carissa's and the girls had a great time but boy was it hot. Last Friday was another day of cleaning up and playing around the house. We were also trying to rest up for what we knew was going to be a very busy weekend.

Corinne swimming in her toys!

She loves to swept now by herself!

Last Saturday we went to my cousin Jon's house for a graduation party for his son Jacob. They have a lot of lady and Corinne loved just running in their fields. They also have a very nice pool so we had to try it out. Corinne loved it, but she is so comfortable in the water that she thinks that she can swim by herself and did not want to swim any other way. We were there for several hours and it was very warm so Corinne was really tired after this day.

The few minutes she would stay in with help!

On Sunday we went to my brother's to celebrate Father's Day and it was another very warm day. The kids had a ball just running around my brother's property, playing in the sand and water table, and playing in the sprinkler ball that they had set up. Corinne was on the go the whole time we were there so she was very worn out when we left. After my brother's Corinne was so dirty we were going to take her to my parents to clean her up before we went to my other cousin's graduation party but she was so tired she feel asleep and we did not want to wake her up. We attempted to take her to the party diry girl and all but she was just too tired so we had to leave after about fifteen minutes. It was a very long but fun weekend.

Playing in the water table

My fashionable tom-boy (acutally I did not know they were going to have all the water stuff so I did not bring a suit for her).
After the long weekend you would have thought that we would sleep in on Monday but everyone who knows Corinne knows that does not happen. Tiffany and Jack came over for a playdate and the kids had a great time. They were so talkative to each other this time and it was so fun to watch. Carrie and Dominic came up later and we did some shopping at Carter's for things on clearance that we can us next summer and for the new baby.

Corinne and Jack playing in the wagon (notice i finally got Corinne to keep a bow in her hair to keep her bangs out of her face)

We just missed Corinne and Jack talking over the menu for there dinner:)

Tuesday was a very low key day we just stayed around the house and got some lists made for what needs to be done before I go back to work. This summer is going so fast that I am starting to panic about getting everything done before school starts and new baby comes.
On Wednesday, Carrie, Dominic, Corinne and I went to Slate Run Park to visit the animals and attend a horsing around storytime. The storytime was not very kid friendly so we just moved onto the animals. Corinne is so into animals right now that she was running the whole time we were there! It is a great place and free so if you get a chance check it out. Make sure you were old shoes and play clothes though because it is a little messy. Our visit was cut a little short because it started to rain but it was still nice.

Corinne and Dominic checking out the hammock

They loved the turkeys because they were making a lot of noise!

This picture is priceless, it was a baby lamb that Corinne could not keep her hands off!

Corinne showing Dominic the ducks!

She was a little nervous to pet the very big house, Mommy loved it though! She did at least teach him.
Today we had Hannah and Alexandra over for a playdate which is always fun. We had to stay inside though because it was rainy and even a little chilly. We are so excited to get ready for my favorite holiday of the year, the 4th of July!
